REI's Wedding Dresses
We've long dreamed of creating wedding dresses using REI lace.
A once-in-a-lifetime special day.
A once-in-a-lifetime special day.
A joyous day where everyone smiles, from the bride and groom to the guests.
What if we could adorn that special day with loved ones with REI lace?

The number of lace factories in Japan has been steadily declining year by year, and skilled artisans who create delicate and beautiful Japanese lace are suffering from a serious shortage of successors, causing their numbers to dwindle.
After the war, Japan was one of the world's leading lace manufacturing countries.
Our theme and mission in manufacturing are to keep this fading light from extinguishing and to pass on important Japanese techniques.

Until the bridal line was officially launched in 2023, there were various difficulties.
Securing personnel and time.
Perhaps by a strange twist of fate, in 2019, just before the COVID-19 pandemic, a skilled artisan who had been making wedding dresses for over 10 years at a long-established custom dressmaker joined REI as a pattern maker.

The following year, a wedding planner with international experience joined us as the youngest staff member, and her powerful vitality brought our dream closer to reality.

In 2023, REI's bridal line finally took shape.
"Dresses that touch the heart"
Wedding dresses made from natural materials that highlight natural beauty, as if taking a leisurely stroll in a garden.
Collage lace veils created by hand-dyeing and layering each piece of lace.
Something that will remain a symbol of happiness even after its role in the wedding is over.

In February, we welcomed model Arianna and conducted a collection photoshoot.
Hair and makeup artist Saito, who has worked on many bridal shoots, and Arianna, a professional bridal model.
Our first bridal shoot was greatly aided by these two, who we had also worked with on our apparel line collection shoots.
These curious connections tie in many ways, and at REI, we are reminded of the importance of human connections.

The designer and pattern maker brought needles and thread to the studio and made subtle adjustments on the spot during the shoot.

Lace hand-dyed by the designer in various ivory shades.
The collage, which creates delicate color nuances, is also entirely handmade, and immense time and effort went into creating each veil.
